Friday Blog Challenge at the Sugarplum
My fellow Creative Team member, Crystalbella, is hosting a challenge on the Sugarplum Paperie blog. Head over to www.sugarplumpaperie.com to check it out and participate!
Here is my page for the cause! It was lifted from Leslie’s “Beach Fun” layout over at DigiShopTalk:

Here’s my take:
Stay tuned for my turn at the Blog Challenge coming up the last weekend of September- I have something fun planned!
In Columbus Scrappers land, we held our mini album book club meeting last night. Very fun! I didn’t get an album done- I didn’t leave myself enough time to print papers and photos. However, Tracy and Heather made some really cute ones!!!!! Also, lots of fun sharing mini album projects already done, including Angie’s 6×6 album (made entirely out of recycled chipboard and stuff she already had in her stash- whoo hoo!!) and Leslie’s awesome accordian album of her son. The night wasn’t completely wasted, as I completed my Mr. Campy swap stuff- before the sign up deadline!!! Am I on the ball or what??? I’m going to post those tomorrow to entice you! I also made a cute card using Sugarplum Paperie’s Twist Collection- that will be posted on Monday- along with my first freebie!!! Stay tuned!
MWAAAA HA HA HA!!!
I love my daughter!!! My training is going just as I planned…
She’s back to gymnastics for the fall, and the gym is all decked out in Olympic rings. And my little girl got all excited.
Excellent…
Someone asked her if she was going to be in the Olympics when she got older. She says, “yeah” That’s my girl!
I have to get to bed so quick pages du jour…
And, I have my hybrid stuff over at Sugarplum Paperie (www.sugarplumpaperie.com). Wow- a week has gone by and I still can’t believe I was invited to join Nicole’s creative team. I AM SO EXCITED!!! Thanks, Nicole, for this awesome chance!!!
More crafty things over the weekend featuring the Twist Collection and Margo Sorbet- I LOVE THESE KITS!!!
For the love of sport!
I have gotten SIGNIFICANT razzing for all of my Olympics talk.
What can I say, I drink the Kool Aid of the 5 interlocking rings…
So, the games are over, and it means I stand a chance of getting to bed before 1am- yay! And so, my thoughts turn to football!
College football, NFL football, and my 2 fantasy leagues…
The Agnew family fantasy league had its draft today. Don’t worry guys, I don’t think I stand a chance of backing into the play-offs and running the table to win again this year. No research on players at all, other than removing ALL Dallas Cowboys from the autopick list. That’s not research, that’s just common sense
On other notes, Natalie started Kindergarten on Thursday- and we lived to tell the tale! Pages to come, but I can at least post a couple of pics:

Jeff goes to pick her up after her first day (he was going to pick her up, take her to lunch, make some memories…), and she wants none of it- she wants to ride the bus! So she took the bus back to daycare for the afternoon. The teacher tells him that she is a “very strong-willed child” OY! Can I hide under a rock now??? Fortunately, she does love school- it’s always good when they want to go back the next day!
Other projects I finished this week- I’m on a huge hybrid kick. For one, it’s great fun and it’s where I want my scrapbooking to be eventually, but for two, I had applications in for a couple of hybrid teams, so it was time to show what I could do and maybe suck up a little bit!
One, the LOVE album:

Wow, I’m so proud of this. I love how I figured out to place the kissing picture in the “O” when it’s closed. I love the primas that hide square pictures edges. I love how combining color and sepia toned pics worked so well.
OK, the other hybrid mini of the week:

I finished this this morning- kinda cute, eh? I love these papers!!!
Lastly, I have fun news, but I need to keep mum for the moment! Tee hee! I’ll post as soon as it’s official!
Until later!
Kim
I’m a Phelps Phan!!
Really, is there anyone out there that isn’t right now?
What an amazing accomplishment- 8 gold metals, 7 world records, and 1 olympic record! I had the privilege to see each race.
I LOVE THE OLYMPICS!
What makes it all the sweeter is that he seems like a really nice guy. Congrats, Michael!
The crafty bug has set in- so I’m churning out projects. Yippee! A couple of Creative Team calls have kicked me in the rear to get some lingering hybrid projects done. So, here’s the first:
I resisted for so long, but the Provo Craft lunch box finally sucks me in. Terri did a tutorial for embellishing these at a retreat a few years ago, and now I’m embracing it! I made previous ones with 2 sheets of 12×12 paper (trimmed) to wrap it, and I was hoping to avoid that by using my Epson 13″x19″ paper. It was about 4″ too short, so I had to make a filler piece for the back. I’m wondering if I should buy the paper on the roll for a project like this. Paper on the roll might be nice for paint cans, too…
Another reason for kicking out hybrid projects: I suggested a “Book Club” of sorts on Columbus Scrappers revolving around the special issue of Simple Scrapbooks magazine: Mini Albums in an Evening. What a completely fun book!!!!! It’s one of my best purchases in a long time- it covers a wealth of mini album types (chipboard word, Cosmo Cricket mini, Maya Road, acrylic, etc) and offers a TON of ideas. I have lots of ideas, and not nearly enough time to do them all!
We have a Club Meeting on Friday, August 29th starting at 5pm at the Whetstone Branch of the library (in Clintonville). It’s going to be a show and tell session, and I’m going to bring coasters and the Bind-It-All to make coaster albums. You bring 8 4″x4″ pieces of paper/cardstock, pics to fit, and matching embellishments. Come join us!!!
Natalie starts Kindergarten on Thursday! Stay tuned for more on that!
Finally, a philanthropy note- Labor Day weekend is coming up, which means the annual telethon for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. I always watched it before when I could, but now I’m personally invested as well, now that I’m in a lab that’s working on treatments for Duchenne. Help out MDA- treatments are on the horizon and it’s going to take BIG BUCKS to get those treatments to those who need them!
More new pages!
Talk to y’all soon!
Am I ready for some football?
Oh yes, I am!!!
I am blissfully enjoying The Hall of Fame Game on TV right now- Colts vs Redskins.
Ah, football season has started- I am happy. I know it’s only preseason, but I don’t care. So the starters only play for ten minutes in the preseason games- don’t care. I love football- college, NFL, high school on Friday night, just bring it.
I’m making a goal- we’re going up to Canton when Michael Strahan of my beloved NY Giants is inducted into The Hall. So, Michael, when they call you to tell you you’re in, call me and I’ll book the hotel!
And then there’s the Olympics starting on Friday- whoo hoo!!!! I’m such a sucker for the Olympics, I’d take the two weeks off from work if I could swing it. I could watch it all day long and not really get bored. Don’t call me if gymnastics, swimming, diving, equestrian, or volleyball events are on.
This will be my first Olympics with DVR- I think I’ll gain a new appreciation for it!
I have new pages to put up- these two are really my favorites. I finished them and I just LOVED them. Digital is definitely agreeing with me- I think I’m hitting my stride.
